What duct size and route does the hood require?

That pressure can backdraft a water heater or a fireplace, pulling combustion gases into the living space. A makeup air system introduces outside air in a controlled way, typically through a motorized damper that opens when the hood switches on, sometimes with tempering so you are not dumping cold air into the room. Planning it early is far cheaper than discovering the requirement after cabinets are installed and the duct is already in the wall.
Can a recirculating hood be converted to ducted?
